Insider: Headmaster Peter, thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by The Insider. Today, our discussion will cover four areas: your background in education, learning skills, self-improvement, and the bridge between home and school.
Insider: Which educational method has impressed you the most during your career?  
Peter: My first teacher left a profound impression on me. She not only inspired me greatly but also employed an innovative teaching style. She was a teacher full of stories and would spend about half of the class time sharing them. At that time, accessing information from outside sources was difficult, so she became a unique figure, providing us with a wealth of knowledge. Her unique approach ignited my curiosity and enthusiasm for learning more about the outside world. 

Insider：你认为学生如何有效地管理时间，培养自律，实现学术和个人目标？
Peter: 我认为，时间管理和自律是学生实现目标的关键。首先，明确目标并将其拆解为小任务，按优先级排序，这样可以保持专注并增强动力。其次，制定一个合理的时间表，涵盖学习、休息和娱乐，并坚持执行，同时学会灵活调整。第三，培养良好的习惯，比如提前行动、远离拖延，有了规律，自律就会变得更加自然。最后，增强责任感，比如将目标告诉支持你的人，或者记录自己的进展。总之，规划、坚持和支持，能帮助你高效实现学业和个人目标。
Insider: 你认为哪些方法有助于激发学生的学习热情？
Peter: 在我看来，作为一名学生，学会时间管理、设定目标、明确方向以及端正学习态度，是激发学习热情的关键。首先，合理安排时间能够帮助你在学习、休息与娱乐之间找到平衡，有效避免拖延与压力，让生活更加有序，学习更加轻松。其次，设定清晰的目标如同为前行之路点亮明灯，无论是短期任务还是长期规划，目标都能为你注入源源不断的动力，让你在追求梦想的道路上更加坚定。最后，明确方向意味着你需要清晰地认识到自己的追求，并为之精心规划，让每一步都走得更有意义。通过时间管理、目标设定与方向明确，你将能够更高效地实现梦想，发现学习的真正价值，从而激发对学习的热情，在成长的道路上熠熠生辉。
Insider: How do you think students can effectively manage their time, cultivate self-discipline, and achieve academic and personal goals?
Peter: In my opinion, time management and self-discipline are key to students achieving their goals. First, clarify your goals and break them down into smaller tasks, prioritizing them to stay focused and motivated. Second, create a reasonable schedule that includes study, rest, and entertainment. Stick to it but also learn to adapt flexibly. Third, develop good habits, such as acting in advance and avoiding procrastination—once you establish a routine, self-discipline becomes easier. Finally, increase your sense of responsibility by sharing your goals with supportive people or tracking your progress. In short, planning, persistence, and support can help you achieve your academic and personal goals efficiently. 
Insider: What methods do you think are helpful in stimulating students' passion for learning?
Peter: In my opinion, as a student, learning time management, setting goals, clarifying direction, and maintaining a positive attitude toward learning are key to igniting a passion for learning. First, managing your time wisely helps you strike a balance between study, rest, and entertainment, effectively avoiding procrastination and stress, making life more organized and learning more enjoyable. Second, setting clear goals is like lighting a lamp on your path forward—whether it’s a short-term task or a long-term plan, goals provide continuous motivation and keep you steadfast in pursuing your dreams. Finally, clarifying your direction means recognizing your aspirations and planning carefully to make every step meaningful. Through time management, goal setting, and clear direction, you can achieve your dreams more efficiently, discover the true value of learning, and ignite a passion for it, shining brightly on your journey of growth. 

Insider: 什么科学技术对学习有帮助？
Peter: 如今，科技的飞速发展彻底改变了我们的生活。尤其是AI技术的普及，让学习变得前所未有的便捷。我们只需在AI软件中输入问题，就能立刻获得答案，这大大节省了时间。更重要的是，AI可以根据我们的需求定制个性化的学习内容，帮助我们更高效地理解和掌握知识。这些工具不仅改变了学习的方式，也重新定义了内容创作的可能性。它们为学生提供了更高效、更个性化的学习体验，帮助他们在学业和个人目标上取得更大的进步。可以说，AI正在为我们打开一扇通向无限可能的大门，让学习不再是负担，而是一场充满乐趣和成就感的探索之旅。
Insider: 我们知道你还在攻读硕士学位。你选择了什么专业，为什么？
Peter: 是的，这是我的第二个硕士学位，第一个是教育管理，我需要它来辅助，增值我的工作。这一个是心理健康。尤其是年轻人的心理健康。因为我之前并不了解年轻人的心理情况，特别是在他们有问题时，我不知道怎么解决，所以我打算认真的研究一下。主要有三种主要问题。第一，青少年可能每天都因为考试和竞争而面临负面情绪。第二，人际关系在日常生活中也起着重要的作用，尤其是与父母的关系。最后，忙碌的生活让我们感到压力。在这种情况下，学习一些关于心理健康的知识可以帮助调节情绪。
Insider: 你在大学专业学到的知识对你成功地指导学生有帮助吗？或者你所学的专业技能是否符合你的期望？
Peter: 虽然我在这一领域尚未取得显著成就，但我始终怀揣着对知识的热忱与追求。在繁忙的日常之余，我全身心地投入业余自学，以不懈的努力和坚定的信念，逐步夯实自己的专业根基。我积极规划参加各类前沿讲座，与行业精英共探学术奥秘；同时，广泛涉猎学术论文与专业期刊，深入钻研每一个细节，力求在知识的海洋中汲取更多养分，进一步拓展视野，深化对这一领域的理解与认知。我深知积累与沉淀的重要性，也相信在持续的探索与学习中，定能逐步积累起扎实的专业素养，为未来的发展筑牢根基，向着卓越稳步迈进。
Insider: 你认为家长与学校的合作对学生的学习很重要吗？
Peter: 家长与学校之间的合作对学生的学习和发展起着至关重要的作用。尽管家长可以与学校保持密切的沟通，但同时也要尊重一些必要的界限。家长有权了解学校的教育理念、校园环境以及教学方法，这些信息能帮助他们更好地支持孩子的成长。然而，我并不认同家长要求知晓孩子在学校表现的每一个细节，例如追问老师孩子在课堂上的具体行为表现。父母不应试图过度干预甚至完全掌控孩子的学习或生活方式。相反，他们应当提供适当的指导，让孩子自主决定是否接受并遵循。如果父母能够秉持这种教育方式，那么他们也就不必过度担忧孩子的学习进度了。
Insider: What technology is helpful for studying? 
Peter: Today, technological advancements have completely transformed our lives. In particular, the widespread use of AI has made learning more convenient than ever. By simply typing a question into an AI tool, we can get an immediate answer, saving a tremendous amount of time. More importantly, AI can customize learning content based on our needs, helping us understand and master knowledge more efficiently. These tools are not only changing the way we learn but also redefining the possibilities of content creation. They provide students with a more efficient and personalized learning experience, helping them make greater progress toward their academic and personal goals. It’s safe to say that AI is opening a door to infinite possibilities, turning learning from a burden into an exciting and rewarding journey of exploration. 
Insider: We know that you are still pursuing your master's degree. What major did you choose and why?
Peter: Well, this is my second master's degree. The first one was in education management because it is directly related to my work and I needed it. The second one is in mental health, particularly for youngsters, because I didn’t know how to support them when they face mental health issues. There are three main reasons. First, teenagers may face negative emotions daily due to exams and competition. Second, the relationships between teenagers and their parents, friends, and even themselves play an important role in their daily lives. Finally, the busy nature of life can make us feel stressed. In these cases, learning about mental health can help regulate emotions. 
Insider: Does the knowledge you have learned in this major help you successfully guide students? Or do the skills you have learned in your major meet your expectations?
Peter: Although I have not made significant achievements in this field, I have always had a passion and pursuit of knowledge. In my busy daily life, I devoted myself to part-time self-study and gradually consolidated my professional foundation through unremitting efforts and firm faith. I actively plan to participate in various cutting-edge lectures and explore academic mysteries with industry elites. At the same time, I extensively read academic papers and professional journals, delve into every detail, and strive to absorb more knowledge, further expanding my vision and deepening my understanding of this field. I am well aware of the importance of accumulation and believe that through continuous exploration and learning, I will gradually build solid professional qualities, lay a strong foundation for future development, and steadily move toward excellence. 
Insider: Do you think parents’ cooperation with schools is important for students' studies?
Peter: Parent-school collaboration is crucial for students' learning and development. While parents can maintain close relationships with schools, there are some boundaries to respect. Parents can learn about the school's educational philosophy, environment, and teaching methods. However, I don’t agree with parents demanding to know every detail of their children's performance in school, such as asking teachers about specific classroom behaviors. Parents shouldn’t try to fully control their children's learning or lifestyle. Instead, they should offer guidance and let the children decide whether to follow it. If parents adopt this approach, they won’t need to worry excessively about their children's learning progress. 

Insider: 你在与家长沟通时遇到过哪些挑战？你是如何应对的？

Peter:  到目前为止，我在与家长和学校合作时还没有遇到重大挑战。我校家长非常配合，积极支持学校的工作，营造了良好的家校合作氛围。

Insider: 你认为家长在日常生活中应该如何与孩子相处？

Peter: 首先，尊重界限是很重要的。父母应该更多地关注孩子的幸福和日常生活，而不是事无巨细地管理他们的学习。在这个阶段，孩子们已经足够成熟，可以为自己的学习和生活选择负责。如果他们需要帮助，他们会说出来。第二，父母应该保持健康的距离。17岁以上的儿童需要有自己的隐私和独立空间。与他们小时候不同，他们不再需要父母的持续参与他们的成长过程。这有利于培养青少年的自我管理技能，为他们上大学和成年后的生活做准备。给他们成长和做决定的空间是至关重要的，因为他们的大学生活需要依靠这些技能。

Insider：感谢您今天在百忙之中抽空与我们分享您的见解，我们期待下一次采访您的机会！

Insider: What challenges have you faced in communicating with parents, and how did you deal with them? Peter: So far, I have not encountered significant challenges in working with parents and schools. Our school's parents have been extremely cooperative, actively supporting the school's efforts and creating a good atmosphere for home-school cooperation. Insider: How do you think parents should interact with their children in daily life?Peter: First, it’s important to respect boundaries. Parents should focus more on their children’s well-being and daily life rather than micromanaging their studies. At this stage, children are mature enough to take responsibility for their own learning and life choices. If they need help, they will ask for it. Second, parents should maintain a healthy distance. Children aged 17 or older need privacy and independence. Unlike when they were younger, they no longer require constant parental involvement. This is the time to prepare them for college and adulthood by fostering self-management skills. Giving them space to grow and make decisions is essential, as they will need to rely on these skills once they enter universities. All (Thomas, Evelyn and Ashley):That’s all. Q1: 在采访Peter之前，你们有什么期待？
答：我们在采访前做了充分的准备。每个问题都是我们精心挑选的。因此，我们对每个问题的答案都充满好奇。但我最期待的是Peter关于学习技能问题的回答。因为我们还在学习阶段，学习方法对我们来说尤为重要。一个更好、更适合我们的学习方法对我们的学习会有很大帮助。我们期待Peter能带来他独特的学习方法。Peter没有让我们失望，他的方法特别适合我们当前的学习阶段。
Q2: 现实与你们的期望有不同吗？
答：确实有一些与我们的预期不同。那就是采访的时长。我们以为像Peter这样的校长会非常忙碌，不会有太多时间接受我们的采访。但相反，他欣然接受了我们的采访预约，并花了整整一个早上认真回答我们的问题。在很多地方，他的回答比我们预期的要详细得多。他为我们提供了高质量的答案，而不是敷衍了事。他把我们当作真正的记者，这让我们更加钦佩Peter校长。
Q3: 在采访之前，伊隆大学的Kelly和Tim都指导了你们关于问题分支和“优秀”问题的结构；这对你们的准备有什么帮助？
答：灵活应对不同类型的问题。这种训练让我们掌握了处理各种类型问题的能力，无论是行为问题、情境问题还是技术问题。我学会了根据问题的性质调整回答的结构，确保我的回答始终相关且有深度。
Q4: 在采访过程中，你们发现最难的事情是什么？
答：我认为最难的事情是处理意外问题。有时候采访者会问一些你没有准备的问题，比如行为问题或假设性场景。在这种情况下，快速思考并给出合适的回答可能会很有挑战性。
Q5: 作为学生，你们从这次采访中最大的收获是什么？
答：这次采访中最大的收获是校长对心理健康教育的重视。他追求在这一领域的第二个硕士学位，突显了支持学生情感健康的重要性，尤其是在学业压力和人际关系挑战期间。这激励我在未来的教学中优先考虑心理健康，帮助学生在学业和个人生活中都能茁壮成长。
Q6: 下次采访，你们会有什么不同的做法？
答：我会跟进一些有趣的点，比如心理健康教育或创新教学方法，深入挖掘这些话题，确保获得更全面的理解。

Q1: What did you expect before you interview Peter？
Answer: We have made sufficient preparations before the interview. Each question is carefully selected by us. So we are all curious about the answers to each question. But what I'm most looking forward to is Peter's answer to the question about learning skills. Because we are still learning subjects, learning methods are especially important to us. A better and more suitable learning method for us will be of great help to our study. We expect Peter to bring us his exclusive way of learning. Peter didn't disappoint us. His method is particularly suitable for our current stage of study.
Q2: Was the reality different from your expectations?
Answer: There is indeed something that is quite different from our expectations. That's the duration of the interview. We thought that a master like Peter would be very busy, there would not be much time to be interviewed by us. But on the contrary, he readily accepted our interview appointment, and it took a whole morning to answer our questions seriously. In many places, the answers are much more detailed than we expected. It provides us with high-quality answers, not just dealing with things casually. He treated us as real reporters, this makes us admire master Peter even more.
Q3 Q: Prior to doing the interview, Kelly from Elon university and Tim both coached you on Question Branching and the structure of 'great' questions; how did this help your preparation?
Answer：Respond flexibly to different types of problems.This kind of training has mastered the ability to deal with various types of problems, whether it is behavioral problems, situational problems or technical problems. I learned to adjust the structure of the answers according to the nature of the questions to ensure that my answers are always relevant and insightful.
Q4: What was the hardest thing you discovered when you conducted the interview?
Answer：I think the hardest things is handling Unexpected Questions.Sometimes interviewers ask questions you didn't prepare for, like behavioural questions or hypothetical scenarios. It can be tough to think on your feet.
Q5: As a student was is your biggest take away from doing the interview？
Answer：The biggest take away from the interview is the principal's focus on mental health education. His pursuit of a second master's degree in this field highlights the importance of supporting students' emotional well-being, especially during academic stress and relationship challenges.This inspires me to prioritize mental health in my teaching,helping students thrive both academically and personally.
Q6: Next time, what would you differently?
Answer：I will follow up on interesting points to dig deeper into topics like mental health education or innovative teaching methods, ensuring a more comprehensive understanding
